I managed to catch a few minutes with Sabrina yesterday as she was headed out the door (and out of the country) for her "Spill with Sabrina in Mexico" Retreat. I wanted to talk to her about her short "The Story is Happening", a video collaboration with Jan Michillini. The film was shot in Italy and New York City and is a beautiful moving collage set to a beautiful song called "Left Luggage" (by Australian artist Simon Pressmen, vocals by Jodie Sage). Katie Carpenter masterfully edited the film and discusses the process in her blog. I sat down with Sabrina in the design room while we watched the newest hi def version of the video hot off the presses. I got goosebumps as I experienced a beautiful blend of rich sounds and vibrant imagery. One of my favorite things about Sabrina's work, also noted by Katie Carpenter, is the way Sabrina honers people she has known throughout her life by presenting them as art themselves.
