Last week I took the liberty of doing some serious magazine shopping in Amsterdam's airport (I love it there, the hours went by so quickly browsing through all of their great shops!). I ended up bringing home some really inspiring European magazines: Flow, Marie Claire Idees, vtwomen, Jansen...and something my mom got me hooked on (UK based) Country Living. Each issue kept me entirely captivated through even the most ultimate stages of jetlag!
In the Dutch magazine vtwomen, Donna Wilson's animal ceramics caught my eye. I loved the simplistic & whimsical quality of her work.
Originally from Scotland, she's now based in the UK. The studio is committed to making treasured objects. Using UK based manufacturers and suppliers wherever possible, in the spirit of keeping craftsmanship alive.

A smile comes very easy — you can wrinkle up with cheer,
A hundred times before you can squeeze out a salty tear;
It ripples out, moreover, to the heartstrings that will tug,
And always leaves an echo that is very like a hug.
So, smile away! Folks understand what by a smile is meant;
It’s worth a million dollars, and it doesn’t cost a cent.
