I'm generally a big fan of Oprah and especially her magazine but this cover made me especially happy! Love the chalk art and the artist behind the cover design, Dana Tanamachi. It's a great juxtaposition of simple tools like chalk and a blackboard combined with the sophisticated skill of hand-lettering--and on a national mainstream magazine.
A few examples of Dana Tanamachi's work with Ralph Lauren and West Elm...(photos courtesy Dana Tanamachi's blog):
My favorite remains the colorful installation she's done for this month's Oprah Magazine.
This issue was all about renewal and self-expression, as January publications tend to be but there was one exercise in particular that was a revealing challenge: write your autobiography in 6 words!!! What do you come up with?

i saw O magazine yesterday and they had erased much of the lovely chalk in the cover image... i was so sad! i was planning on buying the issue, but i was ticked so i didn't!

Inspired! I love O from the very 1st issue (actually I subscribed from #2!). And I love the chalk board wall. We actually have one in our shop and I'm inspired to try my hand on the intricate lettering. Great cover and lovely post!
