It's time to celebrate the month of love! No matter what love looks like to you (partnership, friendship, kinship, compassion, passion, or appreciation) this is the month to focus our attention on LOVE. (Also, everyone gets to cut, freeze, visit Home Depot, wrap, and print like crazy and no one thinks anything about it).
Above all, this is a great time to turn our attention to self-love. The more we honor our own passions and desires, the more fulfilling all our relationships will be. That love will spill over into everything we do.
In honor of one of our favorite sentiments, "Love Who You Are", we're giving away everything you see on our homepage: one of each of our Valentine cards, "Hong Kong Beauty" Luggage Tag, "Love Foral" Luxe Tote, Love Magnet, "Heart" Love Letter Gift Tag, and a pink Tassel Key Chain (a $136.00 value) To enter, just leave a comment sharing one way you love who you are.
Contest ends next Friday, February 10 at 12:00 PST (so we can send you your presents by Valentine's Day).

I love who I am by taking gentle and loving care of myself in simple, little ways. One is by being quick to forgive myself and another is by letting myself spend time doing things nourish me with people that I love.

Self-love means knowing my true essence and allowing it's full expression in my life. This essence is free of fear, judgment, insecurities, and the like. It is love, and knows only how to give and recieve love. Everyday, I chip away at my ego/personality self that thinks it's the real thing. Then, I get a glimpse at the elegant self within...and I realize...this is what I truly am...this is my essence...this is real. Self love is integration of this essence in my reality.

The more I see my teenage daughter struggle to just find out and accept who she is, the more I love myself for the woman I have become. I used to struggle with loving myself when I was younger and seeing that struggle from a different perspective happening to my daughter, who is in my mind perfect just the way she is, makes me realize that all the resistance I went through was such a waste of time and energy. We are all worthy of love just the way we are, especially self love.

One thing I realized recently is that "Self-care is Service". By taking the time to meditate, journal, do yoga, put on a pretty lipgloss, decorate my space, sip tea with friends, share belly laughs and spend time with my pets, I can not only love myself, but bring the fruits of that love out into the world.
So my answer? I love myself, when I truly show love and care to myself. And I love that I know that!

I love to spoil myself sometimes. The Papaya package that arrived today was such a nice example of this, so I blogged about it (http://sparklescribbles.blogspot.com/2012/02/dreamy-journals-papaya.html). I've realized that little healthy indulgences make life sweeter, and it's a way of showing love to myself.

"Come on people now, smile on your brother/mother....everybody get together gotta love one another right now."
I love my spontaneity, creativity, my flute and concertina playing, my playing with paint, my dancing in the kitchen and the way I love my dog who has cancer.

I love myself because I give myself time to express my creativity by taking a six month leave of work to write a novel I started. It sounds totally out of reality but it is exactly what it is all about: beeing out of reality and in MY reality. Dreaming is the first step to realizing something. Wish me courage. I need it every step of the way.

Beautiful card! One way I love myself is by taking time for a spiritual practice everyday; whether it be watching an Eckhart Tolle movie, Yoga, or reading Rumi, Byron Katie or The Toa Te Ching, I try to take time for what I view most important in this life: the evolution of spirit. Thank you Papaya! for Being!

It was a long, hard struggle for me to learn to love myself and now I am crazy about myself. I think I am fascinating, adorable, & tons of fun! To show myself that, I only spend time with quality people doing things I genuinely enjoy, eat often and yummily but definitely healthily, and I even take myself out for fancy dates to nice restaurants & to see shows or concerts. I've even started a blog to help others discover the wealth of peace, passion, & love inside of themselves.

If there is anything better than to be loved, it is loving. I learned to love me years ago and in return learned to love others more fully. The Beatles got it right when they sang, "All you need is LOVE!" I love the way I love!

I love that I understand that peace begins within, that random acts of kindness take the cake, that if I surrender to the wind ~ I can ride it. Mindfully embody compassion, generosity, serenity and truth in all matters. Each day I gently ask, "How can I be more loving? How can I be more kind?" I AM LOVE.

Love is secure unto itself and when a woman is secure with her true beauty she sees it in others. I love to lift others in this way. Just like today when I told an 80 year young widower, "Look how handsome you are!" You need to spend that extra income on another woman." He flashed back a radiant smile. Wow. His esteem was worth its weight in gold. And another example happened when I complimented a younger woman at the health food store that sells your cards. I walked up to her and showed her the card I just purchased and said, "Look at this. You look just like her!" You are so beautiful. You look like an Ethiopian princess. Then it came back to me, a radiant powerful blast of self appreciation. I was astounded at how well she received my compliment. Her inner beauty was running high on love.
May you walk in beauty,
Carol age 62

One way I Have found to love myself is to have worked out a way to wake up on my own (most of the time), without an alarm clock shocking me awake.
This has been a very important way to nurture myself and accept my own personal rhythms.

It took me many years Love who I am. 30 years later I'm on the path of loving myself more and more every day. It took a lot of pain to get me to look into the mirror and respect myself. To see the beauty behind all my negative thoughts towards myself, anxiety always feeling not good enough. Now I explore my creative self and understand deeper into my feelings. Losing both my parents, helped me also see them through me which really helped with my grieving. And to love myself for who I've become with and without them. Thank you!

One way I deal kindly with myself is by allowing all aspects of myself to express themselves: intellectually (at work), physically (by regular training) and creatively (by taking the time to craft for myself and others). Respecting a balance is showing love for me!

I thought about having a valentine, then thought of reasons why I should be my own. Why the things I usually complain about are things I have come to love because they tell a story.. My tummy may not be in shape, but it gave me two beautiful kids. I may bite my nails but it only gives my hands character and adds to my story. I may have scar tissue but having diabetes since I was 8 makes me appreciate what I don't have, things could always be worse. My ears my be a little big but, it lets me listen to Florence and the machine and collage in a deeply creative way. I am not a supermodel but in love with what I have become.

I love who I am by treating myself kindly even when I am frustrated with my efforts and want to edit myself. I love who I am by celebrating myself and my own achievements when the world seems dark and foreboding. But most of all I love who I am by surrounding myself with people who love and respect me in turn. Life is just a lot better that way.
All of these things are the same thing repeated in only slightly different ways: it's all about surrounding myself with support and love. Always.
