Papaya has been working hard from the road these past couple weeks showing people our newest products and spreading the Papaya love.
At America's Mart (Atlanta, GA) we unveiled the new booth we've been working on and were thrilled to receive the award for "Best in Show".
We leave for NYC at 5:00 AM PST. Wish us luck!
This week a lot of our up and coming product samples came in, which is an exciting point for us in the design timeline. A crucial time of making final revisions for me... but today it also means a special sneak peek for you!
Remember back in October when I was posting about one of my works in progress?! Here it is again, instead of print outs on my wall, now in the first sample stage. Exciting!
The Book of Days is a dateless planner. "Dateless", meaning you can start planning whatever day, month, or year you want to! Every page is full color, filled with unique designs, inspiring quotes, and the second half of the book is dedicated to notes, journaling, or whatever you can dream up!
It's cloth bound, dainty, and comes with a coordinating band, to keep it snug shut while carrying around in your purse.
Sarah graciously hand modeled for me today, so I could make this video to give a glimpse of all of the different types of artwork in the book... we hope you enjoy it!
A few new product proofs arrived at our door yesterday and I just had to snap a few pictures on my way out the door. Extra large giclees will soon be available and they are just too beautiful for words. The "Gnome Hat" (top left giclee) will be 26" x 36" and looks absolutely stunning. "Hummingbird" (top right) will be 36" x 48" and "Lighten Up"(bottom) is 24" h x36" w.
At the annual Papaya Christmas party, we were all required to wear these antlers (last year it was fuzzy santa hats with our names glittered on them)... in the end, I think these look much better adorning my favorite little Buddha lamp in my office. One of life's happy accidents.. now he's got it going on!

After a bit of a transitional dry spell I'm feeling quite full of new designs and artwork lately. I've learned to trust in the waves of productivity and roll with them. In the good times I can produce three times the amount of artwork I can when I am fighting the uphill, creative stream. It's like cleaning your house only when the mood strikes. You know when you start on the dishes and suddenly three hours later you come out of a bathroom scrubbing, vacuum wheeling trance? Vs the days you can barely pick your clothes off the floor? Well creativity is much like this for me. And Ironically creativity spells often mean a break in my cleaning streak unfortunately. You can usually tell I'm on a roll if my house is a disaster. Around here we are getting ready for our Bi-annual debut of new designs and offerings. So it's good timing
to be feeling productive. These pieces will be ready around February but I love sharing the early previews with you.
As teased in Eli's post, Inspiration Board, our newest trade show booth is blooming in the Papaya warehouse as we speak.

Doing art pieces has been my first love. But I'd say I've had a love affair with interiors since I was a child. To me the idea of home and the interest in personal spaces goes hand in hand with an artists perspective.
My home is always a mix of West Coast artist originals, folk art and traditional textiles from all over the world and a few of my own pieces. I can't resist modern goodies, foreign relics, and good old bohemian flair. I've tried to limit my palette at times but have since given in to my cornucopia of interests and visual loves.
This is a new home for me. We just moved in last week and I'm enjoying having such a deep, historical house to play with. It feels good to have a sturdy home after my year in Belize. I've transplanted many of my paintings from the island and given them a place within the moody, Northwest bungalow.
